A five minute walk from Avocado Village will take you to the subway Tozai line at Ishida station; from here you can access all that Kyoto has to offer! It is 25 minutes from the share house up to Kyoto station.

Kyoto has been the center of Japanese culture for more than 1,200 years. Kyoto illustrates the development of Japanese wooden architecture, particularly religious architecture, and the art of Japanese gardens, which has influenced landscape gardening the world over.
Also Kyoto is a good base city for exploring the different parts of Japan.
While a highly traditional, Kyoto is also incredibly modern, accessible by Shinkansen train. Because of Kyoto’s location and vast train system, it is very easy to visit many historical cities and sites, as well as the many notable neighboring surrounding cities. Kyoto is a nice conglomeration of tradition and modernism, a train ride and a short walk can transport one through history.
