I went to see the Setsubun Festival at Yoshida Shrine, beside Kyoto University. Every year they hold a number of festivities between February 2nd to the 4th. Also on the 2nd and 3rd, the surrounding area thrives with some 800 food stands that gather from throughout the country. Among them, you can find stands operated by long-standing restaurants and sake cellars of Kyoto. Delicious! Before I knew it, the trip had turned into something of a walking food-tour.
